Lower Silesia: What to see with children? TOP attractions you can't miss!

Traveling around Lower Silesia can be an amazing adventure. You just need to know what to see and how to visit to get the most out of your trip. We have a list of places that make Lower Silesia one of the most beautiful provinces on the map of the entire country. Check out where we recommend going with your children and plan a family trip that you will remember for a long time.

Wrocław Dwarfs. A two-hour tour and a scavenger hunt

If you’re visiting Lower Silesia, Wrocław is a must-see. The capital of the region offers no shortage of attractions, but visits to museums, monuments, and churches might not be engaging enough for the youngest visitors. What’s worth seeing with children who love nature and spending their free time actively? Definitely:
  • The ZOO with the Afrykarium,
  • Hydropolis,
  • Kolejkowo (Miniature Railway World),
  • The Aquapark.
A great idea for an organized trip in Wrocław is also a walk titled “In Search of the Wrocław Dwarfs”. You can set off on your own starting from the Market Square, where most of the dwarfs can be found. There are around 360 figurines scattered throughout the city, each with its own name and unique appearance. By choosing a two-hour guided tour, you can see about 30 dwarfs and actively take part in the search. It’s great fun, especially for children who enjoy completing tasks and exploring the streets of Wrocław with focused attention. This form of discovering the capital of Lower Silesia is sure to delight the entire family!

Rudawski Landscape Park. A meeting with nature in the south of Lower Silesia

Not far from Wałbrzych, in Kamienna Góra, lies the Rudawy Landscape Park. If you’re wondering what’s worth seeing in Lower Silesia, this place will definitely catch your interest. The park’s unique tourist attraction is located in the village of Wieściszowice. We’re talking about the Colourful Lakes—four stunning lakes with a fascinating history and an extraordinary appearance. Their colors (yellow, purple, turquoise, and green) are sure to amaze everyone. It’s partly thanks to them that the Colourful Lakes attract crowds of tourists with children. If you’re going to explore Lower Silesia, do it in the best possible style! Entry to the Colourful Lakes is free, and a walk along the forest trails takes about 2–3 hours. During the season, pony rides are organized on weekends for the youngest visitors. The best time to come is in the spring or summer, on a sunny day. To avoid crowds, it’s worth visiting in the middle of the week.

Siruwia Japanese Garden. Come and visit Little Japan in Przesieka!

Anyone planning a trip to Lower Silesia should start with proper planning. One of the must-see places with children is the Siruwia Japanese Garden. The so-called Little Japan is located near Karpacz and is considered one of the most extraordinary tourist attractions in the Karkonosze Mountains. Plan your visit to the Garden on a sunny day and reserve about 2 hours to explore the entire area. In Little Japan, you’ll discover unique Bonsai tree collections, a museum with a collection of Japanese armors, and hundreds of oriental shrubs that will let you feel the atmosphere of the Land of the Rising Sun. If you’re coming with children, be sure to stop at the Highest Playground in Lower Silesia, which is included in the ticket price to the Japanese Garden. Right next to it, you’ll find a shop with Japanese products and a café where you can enjoy traditional Japanese tea and sweets. Visitors don’t need to rush—there’s plenty of time to see everything and take beautiful souvenir photos—the time spent in Little Japan is unlimited. If you’re visiting Lower Silesia with children, make sure to stop by at least once! The charm of this place will stay with you for a long time.

Time to go underground! The stunning Gold Mine in Złoty Stok

What can you see in Lower Silesia during a trip with children? Thousands of places! But which ones are worth visiting first? For example, those located… underground. The Gold Mine, or rather the Museum of Gold Mining and Metallurgy, is a unique attraction in the Kłodzko Valley. If you have a free day, coming here is a great idea. You can visit the mine with a guide, enjoying, among other things, a boat ride underground, discovering the secrets of the legendary adit, panning for gold, and minting coins. If you’re planning a stay in the Kłodzko Valley area, consider a visit to the Gold Mine. It’s a tourist attraction in Lower Silesia that will captivate you and your children for an entire day. We guarantee you won’t be bored for a single moment. Underground, you’ll see a waterfall, learn the history of the mine, and feel like real miners. It’s a fantastic adventure that you can (and definitely should!) experience with your children.
